DESK TOUR
Wood, black, silver desk tour, window home office with exposed wood grain
This is a window home office with a silver monitor and white input device in the dark wood tone desktop, plus a black chair, storage cabinet, and task light. A five-perspective look at everything from the overall layout to nearby devices, the margins above the desktop and underneath the open desk.

This space showcases the long grain of the wood by gathering plants and decorations behind the desktop or on separate cabinets. Even if you don't use a lot of color, you can create multiple layers by varying the area, gloss, and height of the objects. Rather than focusing on the fact that there is a wide desktop, let's focus on what purpose that side is left for.
Silver appliances add bright lines while black furniture takes center stage. Looking at the same space from five perspectives, we look at the roles played by the top, back, and bottom of desktop.
1. The wide remaining desktop makes a first impression.
The biggest pattern in desktop is not the object, but the wood grain. An empty surface remains between the center screen, the front input device, and the small computer and lights on either side. If you're decorating a wooden desk, try exposing a little of the currently covered surface before choosing decorations. The color reminds me of walnut, but I can't tell from the photo alone whether it is solid wood or wood veneer, or what kind of tree it is.
desktop The wood color is visible continuously on the front and sides, and the monitor is gathered in one lump at the back. The gaze follows the grain of the wood rather than moving complexly between devices. The metal legs under the desk also appear as thin lines instead of wide plates, leaving the floor bright.
Even if your desk is small, you don't have to follow this configuration exactly as wide. Move items you are not currently using to separate storage and leave a side where you can open a notebook. If you distinguish between the space occupied by decorations and the space temporarily left blank during work, it is easy to find the space you can actually use.
