Walnut desk desk styling: workspace decorated with cream lighting and olive
What color can I add to a dark walnut desk to make it softer? It's a home office with cream-colored lighting, an olive mat, and a round input device. Please read the role of the space below the screen and the props on both sides.

A piece of warm taste even when you are concentrating. By gathering devices in the center and adding lights and greenery on both sides, I imagined a desk that would allow people to focus their attention for a moment even during busy work hours.
A workspace made of three colors: walnut, cream, and olive.
The one that occupies the widest surface of this desk is the desktop in deep walnut tone. Unlike light oak, the dark brown color provides weight at the bottom, and the cream-colored lighting and input device become bright points above. An olive-colored mat was added here to smoothly connect the colors between the trees and green accessories.
Even with the same wood desk styling, the impression varies depending on how the brightness of the large surface and the color of the small objects are combined. In this case, the monitor, arm, and frame border were grouped in black. The eye-catching borders are of the same color, so even if you place bright props, the overall composition doesn't look scattered.
If you want to create a similar atmosphere at home, start by looking at the color of your existing desk. Rather than changing your desk, you can start by organizing the items that are always placed on desktop into a few colors. If you think of the large surface as wood, the devices you can reach with bright colors, and the small points as green, you will have a standard when choosing the props you need.
