Do small objects return soon after you clear your desktop? Separate everyday tools from stored belongings. This white setup uses mesh drawers at the lower right to distinguish the working surface from storage.
Choose what stays on the desktop first
The laptop, input devices, and frequently used pens remain above, while drawers for smaller items sit below. Instead of hiding everything to clear the surface, the arrangement assigns places according to frequency of use.
Before buying organizers, gather the objects you reach for during a day. Regular tools and occasional spares will naturally separate. Then decide what stays above and what moves into drawers to avoid unnecessary storage.
White mesh connects with the desk legs
The drawers at the lower right continue the white of the desk legs. Mesh adds a different material instead of another solid white surface. The extra storage reads as light lines beneath one side of the desk.
This concept references IKEA LENNART. Check its actual external dimensions against the space beneath your desk. A position that appears to fit in the photograph does not establish whether the drawers will fit yours.
Visible storage also needs an organizing method
Mesh drawers partly reveal their contents. Mixed cables and stationery may look busy from outside, so moving objects downward and sorting them inside should be considered together.
Group cables used together and sort small stationery by purpose. Before nesting multiple opaque boxes, consider the order in which you retrieve things. This preserves the visibility of mesh storage and makes returning objects easier.
Allow space for opening drawers and moving the chair
The area beneath the desk is also for legs and the chair. With the unit in place, try sitting down and standing up, and check that drawers can open fully.
Check cable routes as well as gaps to desk legs and walls. Make sure drawers do not press on cables or obstruct wheel paths. Comfortable hand and foot movement should guide the location before appearance.
Keep the newly cleared desktop open
More drawers create storage, but they can also tempt you to fill the desktop with new decorations. Empty areas need not be filled. Leave them for an open notebook or a temporary change of activity.
At the end of the day, check which compartment receives each pen and cable. Clear return places make tidying repeatable. The idea here is the division between working surface and storage, beyond the white drawers themselves.
