DESK GUIDE / Organize your desk
4 arrangement criteria for creating blank space on the desk
Even though you have organized your desk, do you still move things around every time you open your notebook? In addition to leaving empty space, margins are used to determine a place for frequently performed actions. Let’s look at the scope of work, storage, light, and under the desk in four stages.

As an example of styling where a wood stand and a gray mat are placed on a white desk, we have organized what to put first and where to leave in four steps. The photo is a reference scene showing the layout idea. At your desk, try adjusting it based on the objects you actually use and the range of movement.
The products to be looked at together include the TERTIAL Tertial reading light, FODERTRÅG Poderlog organizer, and PÅDRAG Poderlog vase, which are reference items for this styling. You can change the arrangement with existing items, and the detailed shape of the connected product and image may be different.
Decide on the scope of work before decorating
First, move the small items on your desk to the side for a moment. Then, place your usual laptop, monitor, keyboard, and mouse and sit down as if you were actually working. If you often take notes in a notebook, open the notebook as well.
Move your mouse and move your hands from the keyboard to your notes. If there is something caught on your hand or arm, change its position. The empty space can be determined based on this movement.
In the example, the keyboard and mouse were tied on a gray mat and the laptop was placed in the back. However, the border of the mat is not the right answer for the scope of work. If there is not enough space when the notebook is unfolded, move the storage location or reconsider the size of the mat.
Create a place for frequently used items
Collect items you take out frequently, such as pens, notepads, and notebooks. Divide the space so that items you use while working are placed on one side that is easy to reach, and items you occasionally use are placed on a shelf or drawer. If you already have a tray or organizer, try using it first.
In the example, books and stationery are gathered on the right. In reality, you just have to take it out and decide for yourself whether it is more comfortable for you, the right or the left. If you find yourself bumping into your mouse when picking up your pen or having to move something else out of the way to get to your notebook, try changing the arrangement a bit.
